The Photography Museum (Fotografiska) in Stockholm offers a very beautiful collection to the visitors this Summer. The museum was opened in 2010 and today it is a center of contemporary photography in Sweden. The museum is housed at Statsgarden, which used to be a former custom house. The building was built in 1906 in a beautiful Art Nouveau style. The original brick facade is still intact. The museum has hosted exhibits of many famous artists like Annie Leibovitz, Gus Van Sant, Robert Mapplethorpe. Inez and Vinoodh

On the ground floor you can see the photography exhibit of the star fashion photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh. The famous Dutch couple have been active for the last 25 years and their work has been displayed in all the major fashion magazines and campaigns.

They shot for LV, MiuMiu, Prada. They photographed stars like Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Alexander McQueen. They became famous in the early nineties because of their computer manipulated photos, which was not common at the time. They would remove the nipples of nude characters or digitally graft a mouth of a man to the face of toddlers to drive attention to child sexuality. Their pictures expressed elegance and horror.

They took some beautiful photos of nude bodies and flowers. I loved their work. They are incredibly creative.

African Animal Photography Exhibit
On the second floor one can view a black and white collection of African animals photographed in the desert. The collection is fascinating. The lightning of the photos is beautiful.

On the third floor there is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible view to the entire city. It is so relaxing to sit there watching the boats float by.
