Los Angeles Tourist Attractions During the Oscars

Universal Studios

I spent a week hanging out with friends in LA during the Oscars. LA is the ultimate la la land, where everything is so glamorous and chic and artificial. I love LA. I go there every year. There are so many things to do in LA. It is a very different city from most European cities in a sense that it does not have a city center or pedestrian streets to walk around. There is really not much to see in LA. I usually just hang out on the beach with friends. First, I hang around Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Los Angeles tourist attractions are everywhere. There are lots of exciting sites to discover in this great city.

I loved getting my morning juices at Nekter. I really enjoyed the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market and shopped for fresh produce every time. I would spend my afternoons hanging out at Urth Caffé with friends in Santa Monica. I enjoyed walking up and down on the boardwalk of Venice Beach taking photos of all the street art. I loved the graffiti on the streets. I discovered a couple of great restaurants on Abbot Kinney. I had a great time shopping, lunching with friends in Beverly Hills. My favorite place for lunch was Il Pastaio with the girls. There were lots of great things to do in Los Angeles. This city has so much to offer to its visitors.

One of the most exciting Los Angeles points of interest is visiting the Magic Castle in Hollywood. It is a private members club.

Every guest goes through a secret hidden library door in order to enter the castle. Behind the library door, one can find different rooms with different magicians and can witness some fascinating magic tricks one would never even dream about. The magicians are World famous and incredible. The dress code is black tie, so everyone looks very elegant. The food is not great, but every visitor has to eat dinner there. It’s part of the deal. You feel like you are part of an enchanted castle for a night that is full of magic and mystery. It is an incredible experience. Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed inside, therefore, I could only take a photo outside, but I can assure you that this was one of the most exciting things to do in Hollywood.

Even though there is not much to see in LA, I really enjoyed discovering the art scene in LA. So if you are wondering what to do in Los Angeles, check out its art galleries and museums. The galleries on La Brea Avenue display a variety of pop art. The art was OK. I have seen much better art in Art Basel. Also spent a day at Universal Studios. It is one of the main Los Angeles attractions. I love movies, so I had to pay a visit to Universal Studios. I met Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop, The Simpsons, The Minions.

It was a day filled with lots of fun and excitement. I have not been to this theme park for the last 10 years. I love Universal Studios. There were all sorts of new rides. The scariest was the Mummy ride. I loved the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. I went on that ride two times. It is a 3-D ride. The viewer feels like she is part of the movie. The Simpsons ride was great too. I love the Simpsons. The Transformers ride had the best visual effects out of all the rides, but it was not for me. It was designed for boys. The highlight of the park is always the Studio Tour where you can see where Jaws and American Psycho and Desperate Housewives were shot. It is quite interesting to see where all these famous movies were shot. This is one of the best places to visit in Los Angeles. I love theme parks and this is such a great one. So if you are wondering what to do in LA and you want to have a day filled with fun, head to the Universal Studios.

I spent a fun day in the park and from there I went straight to the LACMA to check out some art. This museum is one of my favorite places to go in LA. The art was ok, but I was not as impressed by the museum as I initially was when I first went there. There are many fun things to do in LA and I can only recommend everyone to see this fabulous city.

The next morning, after a morning stroll on Venice Beach, we took off for the Yosemite National Park.
