Monte Carlo Open Tennis Championship On Easter Weekend

April 14, 2016

Casino in Monaco

We flew down to Monaco on a Friday morning to see the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters Tennis Championship over the long Easter weekend. It was a rainy day at Heathrow. The Monte Carlo Open Tennis Championship is one of the most prestigious tennis games in the World. The Monte Carlo tennis tournament is one of the oldest championships of Europe. It has been taking place since 1897 and it attracts many famous and rich people to Monte-Carlo. Prince Albert is also always present at the game.

We sat in the executive lounge and had some breakfast while watching the planes taking off. Nice is a quick flight, so we arrived to the beautiful South of France in just over an hour. It was a bit chilly in the South of France, but the scenery was wonderful. We took a taxi to the Hotel de Paris, dropped our luggage off and headed out to see the games of the Monte Carlo tennis in 2016.

Monte Carlo Open Tennis Championship – Quarter-Finals

Monaco is a very special place to watch tennis, because the scenery is so beautiful. The sea is behind you and the mountains are right behind the tennis court. It is incredibly beautiful. The Monte Carlo Masters in 2016 had some of the best players playing against each other. When we arrived, Nadal was playing against David Ferrer. Unfortunately Nadal lost in two sets. Usually the winner is Rafael Nadal in Monte Carlo as he is known to be the king of clay.

Afterwards we saw Federer playing against Tsonga. Tsonga won the first set, but then Federer turned the game around and ended up winning in three sets. This game made the Monte Carlo Open in 2016 really exciting. Watching the Monte Carlo tennis live is a great experience.

We also saw Djokovic playing against a Spaniard. The game was similar to Federer’s game. The Spaniard won the first set, then Djokovic turned the game around and won the game. The Monte Carlo Rolex Masters in 2016 was again very exciting. By the third game it got really chilly in the stadium, so we went back to the hotel to prepare for the night at SASS Cafe. After dinner the atmosphere was amazing! People were dancing on the tables. We had a fantastic time.

The next day we went to the Monte-Carlo Country Club to continue watching the Quarter-Finals again. This time Stanislaw Wawrinka was playing against David Ferrer and the Spaniard lost. I was sad about it. After that Djokovic lost against Federer. Djokovic claimed that he was injured. You could tell he was very annoyed by the fact that he was losing. It was interesting to watch his frustration on the court.

Saturday was a much warmer day than the day before. The sun was out. After the game, we walked back to the hotel. it was a nice walk, took about half an hour. We spent the afternoon at the American Bar of the Hotel de Paris, where a band was playing. Hotel de Paris has a really beautiful lobby, although the rooms are kind of old and ran down.

Later on we had dinner at Nobu at the Fairmont Hotel. Federer happened to sit at the table next to us. It was funny to watch him in real life interacting with his friends. He seemed much friendlier here than he was on court. After dinner we ended up at Jimmy’z where Bob Sinclar was playing.

The party was pretty nice. the crowd was full of good looking French and Italian boys. Next morning, I checked out of the hotel, met up with a friend at the Metropole Hotel for lunch. I love the beautiful lobby of this hotel. The restaurant looks like a library. I often go to this place for lunch, every time I am in Monaco.

The next day we found out about the Monte Carlo tennis results and Stanislaw Wawrinka won the final. He managed to beat Federer. It was a spectacular achievement by the Swiss player. Although, Federer is not the best on clay grounds. His real strength is playing on grass.
