I flew in from London to LA on a Saturday to spend the Oscars weekend in LA. After an exhausting and long trip, I was tired and jet-lagged, but I couldn’t stay home. There was a Gold Party at a night club called Unici Casa. It was the week of the Oscars and people flew in from all over the World. Everyone was anxiously awaiting the Oscar ceremony of the weekend to find out who will be the Oscar Winners 2015. This was the most exciting week in Los Angeles of the year.

It was the tackiest party I had been to in a while. There is so much plastic in LA. The girls all had fake everything. It was interesting to see something like this, at the same time it was a bit too much for me. There were some topless dancers at the club.

Girls were all made up and perfect looking. They were all very exposed. It must be hard to be a girl in LA, where everyone looks so perfect. I caught up with my lovely Japanese friend that night who I had known from my New York years. It was great to see her.

The next day was the day of the Oscars. It was a long day. We started out at Mari Vanna, the Russian restaurant on Melrose Place had a party starting at 3pm. The pre-party of the Academy Awards 2015 was at Mari Vanna for us. The party started by announcing the Oscar nominations of 2015. Everyone got a paper quiz where they could guess, who was gonna win the best picture of 2015 and all the rest. Seeing the 2015 Oscar nominations and reading the reviews of film critiques, one could guess that Birdman was going to win the show.

They served some Russian food and some booze there. After a couple of hours we moved onto the Four Seasons Hotel where the American Black Film Institute had a party. It was a beautiful party with lots of beautiful people. There were lots of African-Americans dressed in beautiful colourful robes. The venue was stunning. We ran into actress Anne Heche at this party.

After this party, we watched the end of the ceremony at a friend’s $20M mansion on Hollywood Hills. The house was incredible with an amazing view to the entire city.

It had an infinity pool and an amazing terrace overlooking Los Angeles. We watched how the last Oscar 2015 winners were announced on the big screen. It was a great atmosphere at the party.
The Oscar winning movies of 2015 were:
Birdman for best movie, original screenplay, best director and for cinematography
Eddie Redmayne won the best actor of 2015 for The Theory of Everything
Julianne Moore won best actress of 2015 for Still Alice
Whiplash won for sound mixing, film editing and J.K. Simmons won for best supporting actor of 2015
Patricia Arquette won best supporting actress for Boyhood
The Grand Budapest Hotel won for original score, costume design, make-up and hair styling and for production design
My personal favorite of the Oscar movies of 2015 was The Grand Budapest hotel. I thought it was a very colorful and funny movie. The 87th Academy Awards was a bit of a surprise, because not many people thought that Birdman would win and also, it was a surprise that The Grand Budapest Hotel won so many Oscars.

After the Oscars ended, we moved onto Elton John’s Charity Event.

It was an incredible event with Heidi Klum, Alec Baldwin, Alessandra Ambrosio and of course Sir Elton John. Nile Rodgers and the Chic gave a great concert. It was the chicest party of the 2015 Academy Awards.

Soon the some of the Oscar winners arrived too with their statues. The 87th Academy Awards winners were very happy. Everyone was celebrating them.

The next and last stop of the night was at Boa Steak House in West Hollywood, where the cast of Birdman was celebrating their Oscars. It was an incredible atmosphere. Most of the 2015 Oscar winners were present.

The guys were so happy, everyone kept taking photos of them. It was amazing to be part of their celebration. It was a magical night in LA for the Oscars. It is something I will always remember.
