Hotel Club Frances in Recoletta
Hidden away on the tiny elegant streets of Recoletta, Hotel Club Frances is located in an old and elegant building. The only thing you will notice first, as you walk by this massive, tall building, are three flags of France, Argentina, and the European Union. Once you step into the building, the list of names on the right wall gives an idea of all the famous people who had visited the club in the last century, such as Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Georges Clemenceau. Club Frances was established about 130 years. It served as an exclusive French Club of Buenos Aires. The club was converted into a luxury hotel 15 years ago. The interior of the building is beautiful. Large crystal chandeliers, gold, and red furnishings make you feel like you are in an elegant palace. To the right of the entrance is the bar, furnished with an elegant wooden interior.
The rooms are the biggest rooms I have ever seen in any hotel. The bathroom is very large as well and it has a large jacuzzi. The room is furnished with wooden furniture as well as light green and white wallpapers and furniture. The large king size bed makes anyone want to jump in right away and hibernate for the winter. The wooden furniture makes the room looks antique and reminds the visitor of a castle in France. I loved having a balcony to the street. It allowed me to be part of the hustle and bustle of the big city anytime I stepped out there.
Breakfast is served in the beautiful covered garden of the hotel. The sun penetrates through the roof and makes it a very beautiful place to dine in. The best choices are the cooked breakfast options. I particularly liked the poached pears with mint and strawberries and Eggs Benedict with poached tomatoes on the side.
The lobby has large colorful sofas and armchairs to allow the visitors to enjoy the atmosphere of this elegant historical palace. The hotel also has a beautiful large palace-like room, where different functions such as weddings, corporate events can take place. It is furnished with crystal chandeliers and beautiful elegant furniture.
The location is excellent. It is within 5 minutes walk away from the famous Recoletta cemetery. It is one of the richest and safest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.
The hotel is an ideal option for luxury travelers, who are seeking a quiet, elegant atmosphere in a famous and historical building in a prime neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
Hotel Clasico in Palermo
Hotel Clasico is a tiny boutique hotel on a trendy street of Palermo in Buenos Aires. The hotel is within walking distance from all the night clubs, bars, and restaurants of the vibrant Palermo. It is a young, colorful neighborhood with lots of colors and graffiti on the walls. It has many trendy designer shops and some very famous restaurants.
A trendy hotel like Hotel Clasico fits perfectly into this colorful neighborhood. As you walk into the hotel, a small lobby awaits you. As you step into the elevator, you find yourself facing a funky piece of art on every floor. Every floor is painted in a different color. The first floor is the red floor, the second floor is the blue floor, then the green floor and the black. Walking down each colorful corridor makes you feel like you are on a movie set.
The rooms are not very large. The rooms are decorated with old antique photos and interesting pieces of antique furniture. The color combination of the rooms is very young and vivid. The pillows are orange and blue. The bathroom walls are painted black and the two round mirrors are hanged up by leather belts. You are better off getting a room that faces the back of the building rather than the street as they are quieter. Also, the higher you are in the building, the less you can hear the noise from the street.
The breakfast is served in a funky restaurant next door. First I tried the yogurt with granola and strawberries, which was absolutely delicious. Afterward, I ordered scrambled eggs with salmon. I received a large dish full of eggs and lox, later I found out that there were 8 eggs in the omelet. If you end up ordering this dish, make sure you can share it between two people, otherwise, it will be way too much.
Hotel Clasico is a very stylish boutique hotel in the trendiest part of Buenos Aires. I would recommend it to young travelers, who are looking for a colorful and stylish hotel that can offer superb services.
