I m a Metal Revolut member and I love Revolut as it enables me to travel around the World and pay in different currencies with a very minimal fee. I m willing to pay for the metal membership to get the most benefits out of the card. The card gives me travel insurance with Allianz, which made me feel safe when I booked a trip to Iran. A few days before flying to Iran, I got sick. I submitted all my medical evidence to Allianz to claim back the price of my flight and the hotel. Initially, they were very engaged. They kept asking me for all sorts of documents. I sent them everything, then they sent me a document to fill out. I emailed it back to them and I never heard from them again. I followed up a few times, but never received a response to my claim. I also called them three times, I was on hold each time for an hour, and no one ever picked up the phone. After three months, it became clear to me that it was some kind of scam. You pay for the insurance hoping that you are insured, but when it comes to the actual claim, they become unresponsive and you never hear from them again. If you rely on Revolut to give you health insurance, don’t fool yourself, it is not going to happen. Allianz will not answer your claim and you will never see any refunds. Use an alternative insurance provider.
